We went through Rastoke, one amazing place nearby Slunj, on river Slunjčica. It's hard to describe the vibe of that place with video, but.. Better anything than nothing. :)
Šanti had some real cocoa. He says that Aztecs could war for a whole day on one fist of that cocoa, which tells how much it's filled with energy. There's not much of it in chocolates, though. Also, I can say it's really delicious. Maybe a bit bitter, but tasty.
After Rastoke, somewhere in Lika, we went to have a coffee in Borje, a really pleasant restaurant.
So many people that are in love with guitar, this or that way, has met in one place. There was one exceptional vibe ruling the festival. It was just awesome on the first day. I met so much nice persons. Guitarists, nonguitarists, musicians, nonmusicians, security guys, estrade and nonestrade faces.. I even met Vuco, a singer who is one of really rare public figures that will give you a hand before you'll manage to do that to him.
So, let's go in order..
First I quenched my thirst and hunger with guitarist Ivan Zečić..
Then we had rehearsals.
On this video, one young guitarist from Poland plays, Jakob Kudelka;
Then we had performances. Unfortunately, I don't have the tapes of all that, but I think that many things will pop up on youtube.
Then I went to the beach. Scenes and atmosphere were amazing. There are some cool images just below.
Many things happened during the day.. Many stories, events and experiences were shared.
But, later on came time for performance of regional guitar legends - Zele Lipovača and Vlatko Stefanovski.
I have few tapes, but only sound.
Omiš Guitar Fest is one really beautiful guitar manifestation and I'm glad to be a part of it.
I've been through, with guidance of Šanti, whole Split, including Marjan hill, which really beautiful place.. If I could only beam myself there each day and play the guitar under some tree on some stone in that inspirative ambience..
Here's how Split breathes..
Then we went to Marjan..
Later on, we visited MC Hollisters. They have totally awesome clubhouse named Alien, and everything is in Alien style there.. Those guys rock!
Then we went through the old city. We've seen all sorts of notabilities. We touched Grgur of Nin's toe, and made a wish. We've been on book bazaar.. All sorts of everything!
First we hit the road to Smokvica Krmpotska, which is nearby Novi Vinodolski, to visit several great friends. But, along the way we ran into maaaany interesting and beautiful scenes, and exotic cities..
On the very beginning, we reached Solin, and the oldest part of that city:
The unique Primšten vineyards, built on rocks and stone..
Then we reached the bridge of Šibenik.. It's a big bridge, and people do bungee jumping from it.
Then we reachd Zadar, and visited some of it's notibilites..
Sea organs - they produce sounds as waves hit them. Sounds like the sea singing.
Then we drove through Jadran highway, which is full of all kinds of turns and twists, so it's really interesting for driving. Also, because it's right below Velebit, and on the other side, there are islands and a sunset, it offers indescribable sceneries..
And so, we finally reached Smokvica, after a whole-day drive. Smokvica is a really dear place for me, and I love to visit it during summer. It has a specific and relaxing vibe..
There I jammed with my beatboxer friend, Dino Lončar. Actually, that was our first jam ever.. It was awesome! I think this is just a beginning of a really interesting story. :)
So it was.. Later on we had a night ride to Zagreb. On some gas station we picked up one excellent guy, stopper, which kept us awake with his charismatic and intriguing view on life.
